WILLIAM RYAN

Mr. Ryan is the President of Master Consulting Group, which integrates human resources, benefits strategies and service.

In a prior life, he coached swimming at three levels: high school (Marshall, MI.); college (Western Michigan University, Indiana University, and Western Illinois University); and international (Venezuela). His head coaching stint at Western Illinois produced 36 All-American certificates in 5 years.

He moved to Ohio with TRW- Nelson Stud Welding Division in 1980. He formalized the HR policies and procedures, reconstructed the sales territories, assisted in the implementation of a new cost accounting system, led his region and finished second overall in sales, and implemented MRP (ERP) as Systems Manager. He is a Certified Inventory and Production Control Manager (CPIM). He was promoted to Company Staff in 1984 as Manager, Human Relations.

In 1986, Mr. Ryan accepted a position as Director of Group Benefits, then President of an established northeast Ohio insurance agency. In 1992, he founded Master Benefits Agency and in 1993, Master Management Services, DBA Master Consulting Group.

Between 1998 and 2002, Master Consulting Group won five consecutive Weatherhead Outstanding Growth Awards. It was one of 14 Ohio companies selected for the “Blue Chip Award” by the Ohio Chamber of Commerce in 1999. In 2000, MCG was selected as the Beachwood “Business of the Year”.

Mr. Ryan co-founded the Northern Ohio Area Chambers of Commerce in 1993 (now 130 chambers of commerce, representing 37,000 businesses). He is past Chair of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for the state of Ohio.

Mr. Ryan earned his A.B. in Government from Dartmouth College (second honors), and his M.S. in Human Performance from Indiana University (honors).
