RICHARD A. D'ANGELO
Mr. D'Angelo was engaged previously as general manager of a manufacturing company for Berkshire Hathaway. For the past seven years,
he guided the transition of an aging mechanical products company into a software and communications business with global contracts.
Along with developing and executing a long-term strategic plan, he led material-cost-productivity efforts generating income to fund the effort.
From 1985 to 1997, Mr. D'Angelo served General Electric in three business units and a variety of cross-functional management assignments. At GE Medical Systems, he was Manager, CT Global Growth. This role included medical industry business development, strategic planning and marketing. Mr. D'Angelo's global responsibilities included France, India and Japan. Along with facilitating the global strategic planning process, Mr. D'Angelo led software product development efforts in three-dimensional imagery, explosive detection systems, and bone density measurements for dental surgery planning.
Prior to Medical Systems, Mr. D'Angelo was President of GE's Superabrasives/Asahi Industrial Diamond joint venture company in vapor-deposited diamonds. From a corporate research laboratory concept, Mr. D'Angelo led a team that developed the first viable electronics industry CVD diamond products. He identified the first customers and then negotiated global contracts to use diamond in the undersea fiber optic cable industry.
Mr. D'Angelo started his GE career in the plastics industry as a chemist and was trained in marketing, strategic planning, business development and a variety of additional areas at GE's Crotonville Management Institute.
He has been active in career mentoring programs for high school and college students and also is active in youth sporting activities.
Mr. D'Angelo earned a B.A. in chemistry at Wittenberg University and his M.S. in organic chemistry from Ohio University.
